LEITH, NORTH DAKOTA: Craig Cobb, a 62-year-old antisemitic white supremacist defender of racial purity who says that “racism is my religion,” has been revealed to be 14 percent sub-Saharan African from a DNA test to which he submitted in connection with an appearance on the syndicated Trisha Goddard television show.
He said he agreed to take the test because he “assumed it was science.” But when he learned the results, he said it was flawed, merely “statistical noise,” and promulgated by “craven and debased television executives who aimed only to shock and promote multiculturalism.”
Cobb is attempting to establish a white-only town in North Dakota. There now may be some question as to whether he is qualified to live there.

WASILLA, ALASKA: Sarah Palin, the gift that keeps on giving, declared that Pope Francis had made “some statements that to me sound kind of liberal, has taken me aback, has kind of surprised me.”
Comedian and television host Bill Maher replied, “If she thinks Pope Francis is liberal, wait until she sees what Jesus has been saying.”
As reported by the Daily Mail, Palin claimed she “had been misled by unreliable media reports and should have researched the matter more fully herself.”
Does that mean she now considers His Holiness and Jesus to be reliable conservatives? What a relief.

HARRISBURG, PENNSYLVANIA: The Patriot-News retracted an editorial run by its predecessor, The Patriot and Union, that stated:
“We pass over the silly remarks of the President. For the credit of the nation we are willing that the veil of oblivion shall be dropped over them, and that they shall be no more repeated or thought of.”
The editorial ran in the November 24, 1863 edition of the paper. The president in question was Abraham Lincoln. The “silly remarks” were the Gettysburg Address.
It takes a big paper finally to admit it was wrong.

If there is any overall lesson to be had from these three vignettes, it may be the one that John Douglas and I have been preaching for quite some time now in the realm of criminal justice:
Examine the evidence first and don’t be too quick to jump to conclusions.
It’s just that simple.
Correct me if I am wrong Mark, but I believe the correct legal and psychological term for Mr Cobb is “jackass”.
That sounds about right, Joel, though as a layman, I try not to use too much professional jargon.
Great response 🙂
