John Douglas
Though I didn’t know it at the time, I’d been looking for John Douglas my entire professional life.
I made my living as a documentary film writer-producer and happened into the thriller genre almost by accident. I saw a small article in the newspaper noting that when Albert Einstein died in 1955, his brain had been removed from his skull for scientific study, but after more than two decades, nothing substantial about the physical nature of genius had been revealed.

Having read a few of your books, I believe the most telling thing about John Douglas is his concern for animals. Show me a person who cares about animals and I will show you a decent human being. Also, please let me get caught up on my other books, I have one on Huey Long and Father Coughlin, another on the wisdom of psychopaths and a few others, so no more books for a while. (Just kidding about that last part, write as much as you like).

Don’t get me wrong. The reason John is such a great character, and the reason I have “assimilated” so much of him into myself is because he is the real deal; you couldn’t make him up this good. And as you’ll see when you read the entire piece, just about everything I know about profiling and criminal investigative analysis, I learned from John – the best teacher on the subject in the world.
That is interesting John it makes it sound as if you are not the SSA John Edward Douglas but a person who used him as a facade.
Maybe I need to read the big thrill but I have lecture now and will look at it after.
They also did the same to Arthur Lee Allen the suspect in the Zodiac murders, they never released those findings but other interesting information should be considered. He was not a genius.
