I began jury service today in federal court. With my track record – which one has to detail in every voir dire – it will be interesting to see if attorneys for either side will have me sit on their cases.

I’ll report back when it is all over.

That’s funny. I remember back in 87 I spent a week of county jury duty entering many court rooms in potential jury pools. There was a fellow potential who was a county cop. In three separate criminal cases when the judge asked if anyone knew the defendant, the cop rose and said he did. After the first time the rest of us potentials would chuckle when he rose. Of course no further questions were asked of him and he was eliminated from the juror pool.
